Janie’s fascination with style and beauty began at an early age - from experimenting with color on her sister’s hair to visiting an aunt’s barber shop. The true “aha” moment was as a teenager at her first salon experience for a cut and highlights in SOHO, while visiting family in NYC. She had found her passion! While still living in her hometown of Detroit, Janie graduated from Maly’s Excel Academies of Cosmetology in 2006.
Being a stylist blends many of Janie’s best attributes - a genuine care for people, a continual pursuit of perfection, and an eye for style that suits each individual. Janie sees the client/stylist relationship as one of collaboration - together finding a look that reflects each client’s personality and enhances their natural beauty. Janie’s mission is simple: create a flattering look that her clients can confidently recreate at home. Whether this means creating texture by removing bulk, or encouraging a client to opt for a more organic color pallette, she works diligently to create a style that grows out beautifully.
While not at work, you’ll likely find Janie toting around a yoga mat, chilling at a coffee shop, or enjoying a concert with friends. She also frequently visits her family in both the Detroit area and Brooklyn, New York.
